Adventure Camp 2025

Event Breakdown

With an unknown format, we understand people might want some more specific details about the program schedule and activities. If you don't feel this need, or want these details to be a surprise, feel free to skip this section. The times given below are not final.

Adventure Camp is focused on cooperative play. You’ll be working with your team and members of other teams to navigate challenges. You will not be competing against other teams. We also don’t have a combat mechanic. This LARP (Live Action Roleplaying Game) is strongly story based, though unlike other LARP formats, we ask that the character you embody is largely you (perhaps the most intrepid version of yourself). Our goal is for all of the designers and participants to collaborate in an epic story together.

Explorers may register as complete or partial teams. We’ll work with partial teams to fill out the roster. This is a one-of-a-kind experience, and we want to maximize your participation. It’s highly suggested to register with the people you want early, so that we can properly match people with one another.

Leading up to the event you’ll get a packing list and some guidelines around safety. This will also be the time that we lock in participants. We won’t be able to issue refunds after April 30th.

The location is Mendocino Woodlands, Camp 1. Our timing is crucial, so all teams should give themselves plenty of time to arrive. It’s an approximately 4 hour drive from SFO.

Friday May 30th, teams will need to arrive at Mendocino Woodlands between 3 and 5pm for registration. Once registered, you’ll get your cabin assignment, drop off your items, park your vehicle, and make your cabin spot comfy.

At 6pm, we’ll bring teams to the dining hall to cross the line in the sand.

7pm will be dinner, followed by team introductions at 8pm. Programming will end around 10pm on Friday, hoping that teams get a good night’s rest.

Saturday, breakfast starts at 7am and all teams need to be fed and ready to go by 9am.

Starting at 9am, programming resumes and the real adventure begins! The adventures will be puzzles, games, activities, and experiences that may challenge you and your team mentally, physically or emotionally. Teams will be given “on-the-go” lunches as they’ll be on an adventure until 5pm.

Teams then have a break until 6:00pm, when everyone will reassemble and be ready for dinner at 7pm.

More adventuring will take place in the evening, with programming ending around 12am.

Participants will be able to hang out and enjoy the evening, or go to sleep.

Sunday, breakfast will be served from 8-10am, with the final piece of programming ending by 12 noon. At this point, teams will pack up and head home, vacating the premises by 2pm. Those working on strike will be cleaning and packing up through the rest of the day.
